Mold Inspection & Testing

Mold is everywhere, present in the outdoor and normal indoor environments. It is in the air and on surfaces as settled dust. Esposure to mold is inevitable in everyday life.

Some property owners decide to have pre-testing done to determine the severity and extent of possible mold contamination, while others know they have a mold problem and prefer not to have pre-testing done.  In most cases, if visible mold growth is present, testing is not necessary. 

Mold Sampling Methods

There are no EPA or OSHA standards for levels of mold and fungi in indoor enviroments. However several generally accepted collection methods are available to to inspectors. Comparison with reference samples can be a useful approach.

1. Surface Sampling Methods

Surface sampling method can be done via:
a. Tape
b. Bulk
c. Swab
d. Carpet

2. Air Sampling Method

Possibaly the most common method. Which includes:
a. Z5 Cassette
b. Mirco5 Cassette
c. Air-O-Cell Cassette
d. Allergance-D Cassette
